Phlebotomist (In Office)- Part Time, Dover NH

JOB SUMMARY:

Employee is responsible for the coordination and oversight of activities of the Phlebotomy/collection station within the assigned area.  Employee interacts with their supervisor and management, as well as the laboratory staff and clients to ensure optimal operation of the collection station. 

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8AM-1PM

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive patient experience at the Phlebotomy/collection station.

  2. Completely and accurately collects blood specimens from patients in accordance with established procedures as outlined in ConVerge Diagnostic Services phlebotomy manual.

  3. Completely and accurately labels all materials (i.e. specimens, boxes, folders) according to department guidelines and timeframes.

  4. Completes test requisition completely and accurately.

  5. Processes specimens completely, accurately, and within established timeframes according to department protocol.

COMPETENCIES:

  1. Language Ability: Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Communicates well in both written and verbal English. 

  2. Math Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  3. Maintains patient, client and company confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION:   Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent. 

 

EXPERIENCE:   1-3 years of Phlebotomy and Clinical Laboratory experience preferred.
