Dr. Elvin received both her MD and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, distinguishing herself academically in both courses of study. Dr. Elvin's PhD in Molecular & Human Genetics, as well as her thesis research focused on female reproductive system development, ovarian function and infertility, is especially pertinent to her current role in Women's Pathology.
From Baylor, she moved on to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, for a residency in Anatomic Pathology serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Elvin then completed a sub-specialty Fellowship at B&W in Women's and Perinatal Pathology, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Crum. She is board certified in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and is a member of the ΑΩΑ Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Elvin came to Pathology Services, Inc. in 2005 and subsequently became Director of Women's Pathology at ConVerge Diagnostic Services in 2006. She has published significantly in the areas of infertility and gynecologic pathology. Dr. Elvin is also a sought after guest speaker and lecturer, willingly sharing her expertise in both academic settings and in the broader medical community.
