Karl H. Proppe M.D., ConVerge founder and President, has extensive experience in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology in academic, community hospital, and independent laboratory settings.

Dr. Proppe also founded and was President of Pathology Services, Inc., an independent laboratory in Cambridge, MA. Pathology Services served the New England area and beyond and was one of the first and largest pathology laboratories in the region. Previously, Dr. Proppe served as the Chief of Pathology and Director of Laboratories at Salem Hospital North Shore Medical Center (1983-2001). Dr. Proppe was also a staff pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Proppe is an active member of many professional organizations. He is the President-Elect of the American Pathology Foundation and also served as the President of the Massachusetts Society of Pathologists.

Dr. Proppe received his MD degree from the University of Iceland Medical School and his training in pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology. He has published a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has held a position as Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School.
